Your data, your device

• Your library - books, tags, notes, and reading status - is stored entirely on your device
• Nothing is uploaded to a server
• No account or login is ever required
• The app works fully offline

What we collect

We don't collect personal information and we don't track what you read or how you use the app.

Ads

The free version of Biara includes ads served by Google AdMob:

• Banner ads - shown at the bottom of the screen while browsing your library
• Interstitial ads - shown at natural pause points, such as after adding a book
• Rewarded ads - optional; watch one to unlock a specific feature

AdMob may collect anonymised device and advertising identifiers to serve relevant ads, governed by Google's Privacy Policy. Pro users see no ads.

In-app purchases

Biara offers an optional Pro upgrade as a one-time purchase via Google Play billing. Payment details are handled entirely by Google - we never see your payment information. Your Pro status is stored locally on your device.

Backup & export

• When you export a backup, the file is saved to your device - we never receive it
• You decide where the file goes and who can access it

Sharing book cards

Tapping "Suggest it!" or "I finished it!" generates a book card image entirely on your device. Nothing is sent anywhere until you choose to - tapping Share opens your device's native share sheet so you can send the image via WhatsApp, Instagram, or any app you pick.

External links

The "Wanna offer me a coffee?" and "How are we doing?" buttons open external websites in your browser. Those sites operate under their own privacy policies.
